First of all I am still running Ubuntu and love it! Second, I have stopped using Family Tree Maker and switched to GRAMPS. It took me well over a month to figure out how to get all my pictures imported with as little work as possible. I figured out that I could write a CSV, edit it with Geany and OOo spreadsheet to get all the formatting correct. Then do a search and replace in Geany on my exported GEDCOM for my image files, then import it into GRAMPS. Once that was done I had to spend a bit of time going through each record and make sure the images showed up. If you need to switch, let me know and i can help or send me your data files and I can do it for you. Finally, I fixed the Ventrilo problem by making everyone switch to Mumble. lol Since the Author will not give us a Linux port, I figured it was because he was doing things that he didn't want to show in the source code and convinced everyone that he was writing bad code that could crash their computers or get their accounts hacked :) Just a quick comment on these issues.
